"This was my favorite pizza place while growing up in Hazleton. Either going during the week for lunch or dinner or back in the day after a football game, Vesuvio Pizzeria & Restaurant was the place to be. While people were making their laps while cruising downtown, people always seemed to make a stop here."

"Ordered a pizza, a steak and cheese stromboli, cannoli and tiramisu. Nicely packages, no messes and I gotta say, the pizza was delicious as was the HUGE stromboli"
- Kat D.
"The hoagies come on a really nice roll and always have good quality meat and cheese. The prices are very reasonable. There is even street parking out front and a small lot off the alley in the back."

"What I really love from Vesuvio Pizzeria & Restaurant are their sausage rolls. Also, on the plus side, the staff is very friendly."
"I loved the food here, and ate here 5 times during the three weeks I was in town. Everything I tried here was really good, pizza, stromboli, soup, and cheese steaks. The neighborhood looks a little rough, but heck so does most of Hazleton. I never had any problems there. The prices were reasonable, and they even sell beer!"
"Vesuvios pizza and food is great! ^_^"

"Love the atmosphere...gotta get more pizza soon! Cheap, too."

"The best Italian food delivered. Pasta dinners are well worth every penny and the Italian stuffed pizza is the best."
- Jessica B.
"While staying at the Fairfield Inn in Hazelton, we asked the desk clerk where we could get a pizza. She told us this was her favorite pizza place and they even delivered to the hotel. After 12 hours of driving this sounded great to us. Their pizza was delicious, home made dough and very fresh toppings. Their wings were also very good. They even sent paper goods for us!"

"Ordered a pizza, a steak and cheese Stromboli, cannoli and tiramisu..........took about 45 minutes to get delivered (not bad) but, nicely packaged, no messes and I gotta say, the pizza was delicious as was the HUGE Stromboli (seriously, I've never seen a Stromboli this big, froze 3/4 of it lol which has since been eaten).......the tiramisu was wonderful, but I did pour 43 liquor on it and added some chocolate to the top of it, didn't need it, but I had the stuff and was experimenting with it lol.........my bf said the cannoli was wonderful too!! You cannot go wrong and trust me, I'm a good cook so I just don't rate food good if it's not.......prices are not bad either. We are ordering again from them tonight, a chicken parm and cheesesteak sandwich with the same desserts. ;)"
"Ordered a large Stromboli it was a medium at best. Normally when I get a large in Hazleton it comes in a large pizza box in the shape of a horseshoe. (could feed my family of 5 with leftovers) this came in a small to medium box cut in half.(4 people were able to eat I had Peanut butter and jelly for dinner) I returned it to the shop told them I wasn't happy and would like my money back. Was told this is our large Stromboli and its not their fault I didn't order enough food and they wont give me my money back. Will not Order food from there again!"

"It’s not a bad place. The cheesesteak Stromboli is very good. They sock you and extra $1.25 for sauce which is not a great thing. I’ve had the pizza either be really good or blah. They don’t seem to cook it the same way all the time. The servers are pretty inept (2 of the last 3 times something has been wrong when they brought the food to the table). They do have an excellent assortment of cold six packs for sale."
"This was my favorite pizza place while growing up in Hazleton. Either going during the week for lunch or dinner or back in the day after a football game, Vesuvio's was the place to be. While people were making their laps while cruising downtown, people always seemed to make a stop here.
There wasn't anything on the menu I didn't like. The problem was deciding on what to get each time I was her. My favorites were the Stromboli's, hoagies and of coarse the pizza. The food was always constant no matter when you went of who was cooking, quality was definitely a main focus. Having the different slices and stomboli pieces in the window is a plus. Look at the many options and trying a small portion before getting an entire "pie". Something that is not offered in my current city.
The staff who was mostly family growing up and adding new employees over the years are always friendly and helpful. I miss coming here and being able to talk with the owners on a regular basis but when I'm in town I always stop in for a "slice and a tea" and talking with the owners who I grew up there with."
